HOW YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Peace Pals

PEACE PALS: $30

HAPI 'Peace Pals' are young people ages 5-15 who are learning to become peacemakers dedicated to living in the spirit of the worlds "May Peace Prevail on Earth".

Peace Pals provides a safe and nurturing environment for the children to gather to play and learn lessons that HAPI hopes will lead to generational changes in attitude towards self-worth, care for the environment, personal health & hygience, healthier conflict resolution and respect for all persons. Things necessary for a community of peace. $30 helps to providing a small income to the 25 leaders and tutors, weekly snacks and monthly birthday celebrations.

Playground

Shalom Entrance

Raise the Roof: $50
Walls, latrines and Shalom entrance gate are up, next the United Church of Canada is coming to lay the foundation and raise the columns for a permanent pavillion in the park. But HAPI will require additional assistance to RAISE THAT ROOF! The pavillion roof will provide shelter from the sun and storms with run-off water used to supply the cistern.
Working
BUSINESS: $100

Job creation, particularly for women, is the HEART of HAPI. Woman invest in their children's education, nutrition and health. A household where the woman earns cash income reduces domestic tension. It is a just solution because it pays a fair wage, is a safe and healthy environment, enhances self-worth, and incorporates the dignity and sustainability of productivity. $100 helps the artisans purchase supplies and equipment to expand their business opportunities.

nutrition program

NUTRITION: $200

Nutritional intervention with Ready-To-Use Therapeutic Food to severely malnourished children under the age of 5 helps to ensure that children remain well-nourished and healthy through the toddler years, giving them a chance for normal growth and development into adulthood.

HAPI utilizes community health workers who go to the home to train families in proper dosage, chlorinated water treatment and basic hygiene measures to reduce / eliminate diarrheal diseases in the child that rob their bodies of nutrition. Families come to the clinic once weekly for weigh-ins and documentation of the programs effectiveness. $200 will SAVE A LIFE by providing nutritional intervention and a health care worker to one child.
