HAPI is a Haitian business with U.S. encouragement, and is directed by the Haitian staff members below. Job opportunities are extremely scarce in Haiti, but when people want to make a difference, anything is possible!

Paul Prèvost Director of Human Resources & Community Development
Paul lives in Mizak with his wife and three children. He is self-taught in English, Theology, Astronomy, and Psychology. He had no income prior to HAPI though he was formerly the mayor of Mizak. His wife works as a teacher. Paul started HAPI with the idea of providing economic development for his community.
His dream is to increase the hopes of others through the coop, and to encourage people to love their homeland. In addition Paul hopes that the co-op and the community will provide a future for children to grow up in a good way, including spiritual formation, developing creativity and helping them to be productive. He also hopes the community can have an infrastructure that fosters development for all, so that people in the community will not have to leave to find a better life.

Eddy Joassaint Director of Finance and Administration
Eddy Joassaint works with the business end of HAPI. Eddy lives with his mother, father, one brother, six sisters, and recently adopted a young boy who had no family. He is very active in the community through singing with UJECE, leading Peace Pals and encouraging others.
Eddy believes his job will help create an infrastructure for community development. He is one of the few in the area who have had the opportunity to complete his high school education and take some advanced courses. He would like to see peace in all areas, the creation of more professional schools, and the availability of university. He personally aspires to work in international diplomacy and gain fluency in several languages and serves as a main translator for the US Guidance Team.
